About American Genetics Export Services

Decades of experience in livestock genetics export coordination

A company built on industry relationships, practical shipment knowledge, and a clear focus on organizing livestock genetics movement into and from the United States.

American Genetics Export Services carries forward a reputation built through decades of livestock export experience, documentation, logistics, and international shipment coordination.

Company Background

From international livestock marketing to specialized export coordination

American Genetics International was established in 1994 by Luis “Lou” Rocha and Cherie Derouin. Together, they brought more than 60 years of experience in the livestock export industry.

The company’s early work covered international marketing and movement of livestock genetics by truck, plane, and ship — including horses, dairy and beef cattle, sheep, goats, semen, embryos, and other specialized animal shipments.

Refocused after years in the industry

After Lou’s passing, Cherie restructured the business around export management and shipment coordination with a focus on livestock semen and embryos.

Now

American Genetics Export Services

The company continues to organize and coordinate international shipping of livestock genetics with a clearer service focus.

A refined focus on export management and shipment logistics

Over time, the company moved away from broad international marketing and concentrated more directly on the coordination and logistics side of livestock genetics movement.

Today, the work reflects what Cherie has been doing since 1979: organizing and coordinating international shipments so genetics are delivered as promised.

Two areas of expertise shaped the American Genetics legacy

Sales, marketing, and buyer-seller relationships

Lou began in the livestock industry in 1986. His expertise was working with buyers to determine the type of genetics needed, locating those genetics in the USA, and negotiating purchases between buyer and seller.

He enjoyed the full challenge of the industry — from working with buyers in pastures to promoting U.S. genetics at international livestock shows.

Documentation, logistics, and successful shipment coordination

Cherie was introduced to livestock exports in 1979 and has long focused on documentation and shipment logistics.

Her coordination work brings together buyers, sellers, veterinarians, airlines, trucking, insurance, and the many details needed for successful international movement.
